The path is not always easy to master the German language. Keep in mind that there are different dialects of the German language. For most people it is easier to start with Hochdeutsch (High German). It is rather clear to understand for foreigners, because it is mainly spoken without any strong dialect. I would recommend to you to focus at first at Hochdeutsch. Normally people in North Germany are supposed to speak it. The dialect in South Germany is very different. Take a small step and start with Hochdeutsch. Later on you will get used to German and its amusing structure. After a while you can challenge yourself and move into the world of Oktoberfest and Dirndl. I wish you good luck. Enjoy your journey.
