About me - English
Hi everyone!
I’m Amy, a CELTA qualified English teacher and speech and language therapist from the UK. I’m originally from a small village in the East Midlands, but have been living in Spain for the past few years, recently moving to live by the sea, in Valencia last September.
I spend most of my free time travelling, meeting new people and exploring new places. I often feel that teaching English is a wonderful way to do both of these things. I also enjoy practising yoga, being in the great outdoors and learning how to make mugs with handles that don’t fall off - I’m also a very part-time guitar student.
Qualifications & Experience
I have been teaching English as a foreign language for many years in a number of different environments, in academies, infant and primary schools, and in students‘ homes. As a teacher, my strengths lie in being patient, flexible, creative and focusing each lesson on the specific needs of the individual student.
Through my background as a speech and language therapist I have a specific interest in helping students improve their pronunciation and sound more natural and fluent.

Teaching Approach
My lessons are based on the individual needs and learning styles of the student. I am flexible to adapt and customise lessons to ensure that each class is beneficial and enjoyable.
From my experience as a language teacher and also as a language learner, I understand the importance of needing to feel comfortable and confident when trying out new language skills, therefore, I aim to create as relaxed and friendly an atmosphere as possible. I welcome feedback and contributions to each class!
