Hello everyone and welcome to my profile!

My name is Olga Mastoraki and I am a native Greek speaker. Languages are my passion! I am fluent in English and Spanish and I have a basic knowledge of German and Turkish. I wish I had time to master more languages as I find them all amazing. I am a big fan of words' etymology and always try to find the story behind the origin of each word.

In addition to languages, I love dogs, tennis, sea and nature in general. I love sunshine and like to begin my day with a nice cup of black coffee. I listen to music all day no matter what I do. I am currently living between Greece and Turkey and my dream is to manage to work full-time from home so that I can travel all the world any time that I wish!

I have been teaching Greek since 2012 and throughout these years I have had students from various countries such as England, Luxembourg, Spain, Turkey and Italy. My students have been mainly adults but I have happily worked with children too.

My experience has taught me that there is no magic teaching approach that can satisfy all students. Each of my students has had different needs and skills and different studying method and goals. While some students like to strictly stick to books and grammar rules others find this method quite repulsive and prefer a more laid-back approach.

I always spend some time discussing with my students before we start our lessons in order to understand their needs and preferences. Each lesson is tailored to the student's needs. I like my lessons to be interactive and fun. I emphasize working together with students during the lesson and don't attach so much importance to homework.

Mi nombre es Olga y mi idioma materno es el griego. ¡Los idiomas son mi pasión! También hablo inglés y español con fluidez y tengo conocimientos básicos de alemán y turco. Me gustaría tener más tiempo para aprender más idiomas, pues los encuentro asombrosos! Soy fanática de la etimología de las palabras y siempre intento hallar la historia detrás de cada una de ellas.

En adición a los idiomas, amo a los perros, el tenis, el mar y la naturaleza en general. Me gusta la luz del sol y empezar mi día con una buena taza de café negro. Escucho música todo el día sin importar lo que haga. En este momento, estoy viviendo entre Grecia y Turquía y mi sueño es lograr trabajar a tiempo completo desde casa, ¡para así poder viajar por el mundo cuando lo desee!

He enseñado griego desde el año 2012 y a través de estos años he tenido estudiantes de muchos países como Inglaterra, Luxemburgo, España, Turquía e Italia. Mis estudiantes han sido mayormente adultos pero también he trabajado felizmente con niños.

Mi experiencia me ha enseñado que no hay ningún enfoque mágico de enseñanza que pueda satisfacer a todos los estudiantes. Cada uno de mis estudiantes ha tenido distintas necesidades y habilidades, así como diferentes métodos de estudio y metas. Mientras a algunos estudiantes les gusta apegarse estrictamente a los libros y reglas de gramática, otros encuentran este método repulsivo y prefieren una aproximación un poco más relajada.

Siempre invierto tiempo en discutir con mis estudiantes antes de iniciar las lecciones para así entender sus necesidades y preferencias. Cada lección está hecha a la medida de las necesidades de cada estudiante.

Me gusta que mis lecciones sean interactivas y divertidas. También hago énfasis en el trabajo en clase con los estudiantes y que no se le dé tanta importancia a las tareas.
